During the first phase of this program, Oxitec will conduct field studies to help guide future pilots of the Friendly™ Anopheles albimanus solution - currently in development - to deliver impact in Panamanian communities, and other communities throughout Central America and the Caribbean, threatened by malaria.

A Global Collaboration 

Oxitec’s dedicated team of experts is developing a Friendly™ mosquito solution and associated methods in preparation for first deployments in Panamanian communities. 

The Panama Friendly™ mosquito program will work with rural communities to conduct field pilots of the Friendly™ Anopheles albimanus in rural areas of Panama, demonstrating its performance and validating methods of deployment.
